Topa ORFS One-piece Hydraulic Fittings

This video introduces different types of ORFS hydraulic one-piece fittings, including straight fittings, elbow fittings, female fittings, male fittings, and other common connection styles. You can clearly see the product appearance, thread details, sealing structure, and overall design of each fitting.

ORFS one-piece hydraulic fittings are designed for reliable sealing and easy installation in hydraulic hose assemblies. In the video, we also show how these fittings are used with hydraulic hoses, helping you better understand their application in machinery, equipment repair, hydraulic systems, and industrial fluid connections.

If you are not sure which ORFS hydraulic one-piece fitting is suitable for your system, you can send us your hose size, thread type, working pressure, or old fitting photos. Topa can help you check the correct model and provide more product details, quotation, and customized hydraulic fitting solutions.

How an ORFS Connection Seals

An ORFS connection uses an elastomeric O-ring installed in a groove on the fitting face. When the male and female components are assembled correctly, the flat mating face compresses the O-ring and creates the seal at the connection interface. Unlike tapered-thread connections, the thread is mainly used to hold the two connection faces together. The sealing function is created by the O-ring and the mating face rather than by thread interference alone.

install ORFS fittings

A complete ORFS connection should be checked for:

● Correct thread size

● Correct male and female connection

● Flat sealing-face condition

● O-ring groove dimensions

● O-ring material

● Mating component compatibility

● Correct tightening and assembly procedure

How to Select the Correct ORFS Fitting

The correct ORFS fitting must match the connection, hose, fitting configuration, system conditions, and crimping requirement.

Confirm the Hose Specification

Provide the hose inner diameter, dash size, hose standard, reinforcement structure, and hose manufacturer or series when available.

Identify the ORFS Connection

Check whether the connection is male or female, then confirm the thread diameter, thread pitch, flat sealing face, O-ring groove, and mating connection.

Confirm the Fitting Angle

Select a straight, 45-degree, or 90-degree fitting according to the hose routing and available installation space.

Check the Connected Component

Identify whether the fitting connects to an adapter, valve block, cylinder, pump, motor, manifold, or equipment port.

Confirm the System Conditions

Provide the working pressure, hydraulic fluid, operating temperature, vibration conditions, corrosion environment, and indoor or outdoor application.

Verify the Crimp Specification

Before assembly, confirm the hose and fitting combination, crimping machine, die set, insertion depth, and final crimp diameter.

Materials, Surface Finishes, and O-Ring Options

The fitting material, surface finish, and O-ring material should be selected according to the hydraulic fluid, operating temperature, corrosion environment, mechanical requirements, and customer specifications.

FAQ

What is an ORFS one-piece hydraulic fitting?

A JIC one-piece hydraulic fitting combines the hose stem and ferrule into one assembled fitting. It normally uses a 37° flare connection and is designed to be crimped directly onto a compatible hydraulic hose.

What configurations are available for ORFS one-piece fittings?

ORFS one-piece fittings may be available in straight, 45-degree, and 90-degree configurations, depending on the product model and size. The correct angle should be selected according to the hose routing, installation space, and connection direction.

How do I select the correct ORFS fitting size?

Confirm the ORFS thread size, male or female connection, hose dash size, fitting angle, and hose series. Product photos can support initial identification, but thread measurements, hose markings, or a technical drawing may still be required.

Can one ORFS fitting be used with different hydraulic hoses?

Not automatically. Hoses with the same nominal size may have different reinforcement structures, outside diameters, and crimp requirements. The hose brand, series, size, fitting model, and approved crimp data should be confirmed before assembly.

What materials and surface finishes are available?

Standard ORFS one-piece fittings are generally supplied in carbon steel with a confirmed zinc-plated finish. Stainless steel, alternative surface treatments, and different O-ring materials may be reviewed according to the product model, quantity, fluid, temperature, and application environment.

Can TOPA customize ORFS one-piece fittings?

TOPA can review requirements for special dimensions, customer drawing production, logo or laser marking, barcode and SKU labels, private-label packaging, and mixed-model packing. Custom requirements should be confirmed before sample production or batch ordering.
